A variation of dance classes are offered from the Studios in Olivedale and recently Pineslopes taught in groups in the following genres:
Freestyle
Born out of the disco era, freestyle dance today encompasses basic ballet technique, modern dance as well as its own unique movement. It is very popular amongst children as they learn to count easily to heavy base beat background of the music. Freestyle is danced solo without a partner or in a group.
An example of old style Freestlye style dance can be seen in the movie “Saturday Night Fever.”
Hip Hop
If you want to learn how to make a statement in a nightclub, dance like the performers in the MTV music videos, impress your friends at a party, then Hip Hop/ Funk classes are for you. Hip Hop/ Funk allows you to play with hip hop beats and a variety of rhythms. In Hip Hop/ Funk classes, your unique style is celebrated and encouraged. Through Hip Hop/ Funk, you are inspired to “let go”, “get down” and “get jiggy with it”. Besides giving you an excellent cardiovascular workout, with Hip Hop/ Funk you will get to learn the latest moves to today’s popular music.
Breakdancing
In progression from Hip Hip, one would discover the world of Spins, Freezes and one-armed handstands. Popular particularly amongst the boys this dance form concentrates on core strength, flexibility and endurance. Learning to count to music is a simple challenge compared to the technical requirements of spins and freezes. Each step is broken down to assist the beginner from start through to execution, in a fun and motivating environment. Breakdancing can be seen on Honey, Stomp the Yard and Step it up – Yes, girls can Breakdance too! It is believed that once you have danced Ballet or Breakdancing, every other form of dance is 'less' challenging to follow.
Ballet (RAD)
Introductory Ballet techniques, poise and choreography are available to students from 2 - 5 years. Students from the age of 6years are taught the RAD syllabus in preparation for exams and concerts. It is encouraged to consider Ballet as the first type of dance to learn by Tinytots as it simpler to follow and learn to count to music. It is the basis and foundation to any style they later would be interested in learning and pursuing. Experience has proven that once one has been taught Ballet that one will be able to learn any other form of dance and discipline with minimal effort.
As traditional and ‘old fashioned’ Ballet may seem, this discipline has been the foundation to every great dancer such as the likes of Madonna, Britney Spears and Jennifer Lopez.
All little girls love to dress up like a princess and dance in a tutu; we are excited about giving them this wonderful and valuable opportunity.
Latin American & Ballroom
Social and competitive classes for children and adults are taught by teachers qualified according to local and international standards and therefore capable of grading students in this syllabus, preparing them for the competitive arena, both in SA and abroad.

Group Socials
If Dirty Dancing / Salsa / Take the Lead / La Bomba and Evita get you on your feet, then Latin American and Ballroom is for you. Learn to dance the Cha Cha, Salsa, Tango, Waltz, Hustle and even the Samba and be ready to impress family, friends and colleagues at Weddings, Birthdays, Year-End functions, Balls etc. The group social classes are relaxed, non-competitive and fun. It is a great way of spending some quality time with your loved one whilst networking and making new friends. Ladies, we understand how challenging it is to find a partner that will dance, but don’t despair – singles are welcome. When necessary our single ladies / gents will partner up with each other and even with the Instructor.
No experience is necessary to learn Latin American, our Instructors are qualified and experienced at training the beginner with some of dancing most beautiful, passionate and elegant steps. If you have two left feet, we will make one right!Private Classes
Limited private Latin American or Ballroom Dance classes are available and therefore bookings for these are essential.

Children's Group Syllabus
Latin American and Ballroom is offered to children only from the ages of 8 yrs, due the degree in difficulty in the foot technique as well as the challenges involved on a competitive level. The children’s classes are fun, relaxed, and dynamic following the Latin American syllabus without the children even being aware that they are doing syllabus work. Children dancing this discipline will be graded and given the opportunity to compete.
Adult Dance
Dance classes available for adults are fun, informal and non-competitive. The objective is to learn to dance, keep fit and have fun! Various dance options are available for Adults as follows:
DanceFit
DanceFIT is for those that have either had some dance background as a child whether it have been ballet / modern / jazz or tap or just simply love to dance. Age is limited to 20 years and over and guys are welcome too! A well choreographed routine will be taught over 3 – 4 weeks and once we all know it well a new routine will commence. This allows time for the student to learn, memorise and practice the routine well before moving on to something new. With every new routine the degree of difficulty will increase slightly with some challenging and technical steps / combinations for those that desire a little challenge, however a modified version will also be offered for the new students. The style of dance per routine will vary from Hip Hop to Freestyle/disco to Modern Dance/Jazz, Solo Latino and occasionally Slow Dance ending with a well deserved stretch.
